York Regional Police are seeking a 26-year-old man of no fixed address in connection with multiple break-ins after a suspect posed as a personal support worker to access units at a retirement facility in Newmarket.
Police said break-ins occurred at six residential units at the retirement residence at Davis Drive and Roxborough Road on Monday, Feb. 17.
The suspect fled when confronted by staff and dropped a gold watch taken from a resident’s room, a news release said.
Investigators believe the suspect is responsible for additional incidents that have yet to be reported and are encouraging victims to come forward.
Investigators have been unable to locate the suspect and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Police are appealing to the public for information on his whereabouts.
Dhruvin Radadiya is wanted on charges of break and enter commit x6, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and fail to comply with undertaking.
Radadiya is currently on a release order for similar offences and is on strict conditions not to be within 50 meters of any retirement home, nursing home, or senior residence in Ontario, police said.
