Rapper SG VERSACCE charged after violent sexual assaults of youth in Vaughan

Shevon McBean has been charged in connection with violent sexual assaults against a minor, police say. Police believe there are more victims.

A rapper known by his stage name of SG VERSACCE faces multiple sexual assault related charges after a youth reported violent assaults that occurred in Vaughan.

Shevon McBean, 25, of Brampton faces charges of: sexual assault cause bodily harm x4; sexual interference x2; forcible confinement; and assault criminal harassment – watching or besetting, according to a York Regional Police news release.

Police said they learned on Oct. 25, 2024 that a youth had been sexually assaulted in June and July of 2024 after meeting a man through a social media platform. After corresponded for approximately a year, they arranged to meet in person, police said. At the first meeting, the man prevented the victim from leaving his residence before violently sexually assaulting them. On a subsequent meeting, the man both physically and sexually assaulted the victim, police said.

When the victim attempted to cut off contact with the man, he sent videos of their mother walking outside of their home, police added.

York Regional Police is releasing an image of the suspect as investigators believe there are additional victims and are encouraging them to come forward.

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police encourages victims to report incidents of sexual assault, including historical offences. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
