York Regional Police is investigating after gunshots struck a home and vehicle in Newmarket early Sunday.
Police responded to a call on Dec. 15 at approximately 4:15 a.m. to a report of shots being fired on Greig Circle in the College Manor neighbourhood. When officers arrived, they found multiple shell casings in front of a residence, with damage done to the house and a vehicle parked in the driveway.
A white hatchback was seen fleeing the area, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
A neighbour posted on social media that four shots were heard.
Police have responded to several calls of shots being fired at homes in recent months. Multiple shots were fired at a King home in November in a “targeted” incident. Other shootings at the outside of homes have also happened in Markham, as well as Vaughan.
