At Sault College’s School of Natural Environment, students gain hands-on experience through multi-day field camps where they dive into outdoor skills essential to environmental careers. Guided by passionate faculty like Ryan Namespetra, who brings field expertise, a Fish and Wildlife Conservation Technician diploma from Sault College, and a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management, students will master key areas like fish and wildlife identification, field data collection, and even watercraft operation.

Michelle, a 2023 graduate of the Fish and Wildlife program at Sault College- grew up on a grain farm in southern Manitoba and always had a desire to pursue a career working with animals.

This passion led her to enroll at the University of Manitoba, where she earned a Bachelor of Science with a major in Animal Science. After graduating, she realized she had the theoretical knowledge for a biological career but lacked technical field skills. Her search for these skills led her to the Fish and Wildlife program at Sault College.
