A 50-year-old Markham man was killed in what investigators believe was a targeted shooting outside a Markham house yesterday afternoon.

York Regional Police officers who had responded to a report of several shots fired outside a residence near Cottsmore Crescent and Harvest Moon Drive found a man with multiple gunshot wounds on Aug. 1 at about 2:45 p.m., police said in a news release.

Chenguang Li was transported to a trauma centre where he was pronounced deceased.

A black Acura four-door sedan, with tinted windows, was seen leaving the area.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are urged to come forward, along with anyone who has video footage, including dashcam, cell phone, or security recordings from the area around the time of the incident.
