Police looking for suspect, getaway driver following incident Tuesday

Police are on the hunt for a suspect after a man was shot outside of a Markham business Tuesday.

At about 7:40 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Green Lane and Guardsman Road. A man was leaving a business in the area when a suspect approached him and shot him numerous times with a handgun. The shooter then fled in a Honda Civic being driven by a second suspect.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a Black male wearing a black hooded sweater.

A description of the driver of the Honda Civic is not available.

The suspect vehicle is a stolen black Honda Civic 10th generation with a red Supreme brand tow strap on the front passenger side and a red and white MUGEN sticker on top of the windshield on the passenger side. The vehicle had a blue and white Ontario licence plate, number CMET480, at the time of the shooting.

Police believe the incident was targeted.
