UPDATE: York Regional Police investigate robbery at Newmarket RBC

Police say three suspects at large after confining employees, taking money and fleeing the scene in a vehicle

Police have taped off the RBC at Davis Drive and Harry Walker Parkway.

UPDATE, 11 p.m.: York Regional Police are looking for three suspects who allegedly robbed the RBC on Davis Drive Jan. 18.

Police said at approximately 7:20 p.m., shortly before the bank closed, three suspects entered the RBC. Police said the suspects forcibly confined three employees, took an undetermined amount of money and fled in a vehicle eastbound on Davis Drive.

York Regional Police's holdup unit is investigating the incident. Any witnesses or anyone with security or dash cam footage is asked to contact the holdup unit.

UPDATE, 9:50 p.m.: York Regional Police are investigating a suspected robbery at the RBC at Davis Drive.

Police confirmed that at around 7:45 p.m., officers were called to the scene due to a suspected robbery. However, a staff sergeant said the investigation is still ongoing and details as to the nature of the robbery were not yet available. 

Details on the suspect and any victims were also not yet available.

York Regional Police are responding to an incident at the RBC at Davis Drive and Harry Walker Parkway South in Newmarket tonight. 

Police have put up tape around the facility with multiple cars on the scene. Part of the drive entrance has been blocked, with no access into the building or outdoor ATM.

An officer on the scene declined to comment. Police have not yet reported the nature of the incident or if there were any injuries. 

Police could be seen investigating and speaking with people in the area.
