Wanted: Dirt bike driver without helmet, licence who fled police

York Regional Police is seeking public assistance in identifying a dirt bike and the driver after it failed to stop for police in King Township.

On Friday, April 24, 2020, at approximately 6:15 p.m., an officer conducting general patrol observed a dirt bike travelling east on King Road, approaching a construction zone at Weston Road. The officer observed two occupants on the vehicle, neither of whom were wearing helmets. The vehicle also had no licence plate. The officer activated his roof lights and attempted to stop the dirt bike, however, the driver accelerated and went through a red light. The officer lost sight of the vehicle.

Investigators are seeking the public's assistance in locating the driver or the vehicle involved. Officers are also asking for any dashcam footage that may show this vehicle. The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Suspect Driver:  

  • Male, Black  
  • 25 to 35  
  • Heavy build
  • Wearing a grey T-shirt, white shorts, an orange toque and a white PPE mask  
  • Square-shaped tattoo on left arm

Suspect Vehicle: 

  • Dirt bike  
  • Orange fenders  
  • No lights  
  • No licence plate
