Suspects break into Markham property, leave antisemitic graffiti

Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects

Members of York Regional Police hate crime prevention unit are seeking two suspects after an antisemitic incident Markham early Friday.

Two suspects broke into a commercial unit in the area of Yonge Street and Doncaster Avenue Jan. 10 at approximately 2:40 a.m., police said in a news release. The suspects caused significant damage and left antisemitic graffiti on the property.

Investigators are releasing images in the public can assist in identifying the suspects.

Police are asking anyone who has information about this crime, or has video recordings from the area around the time of the incident, to contact them.

"York Regional Police takes these matters seriously and is reminding the community we will not tolerate any form of hate crime. All reports of hate crime or hate/bias incidents will be investigated thoroughly," police said.
