A Vaughan man is among three people facing a slew of weapons and drug-related offences after a traffic stop on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township.
Ontario Provincial Police officers stopped the vehicle for a sobriety check Feb. 27 and observed cannabis readily available, according to a West Parry Sound detachment news release.
A firearm, high-capacity magazine, and suspected cocaine and fentanyl with an estimated street value of over $22,000 was found during a search of the vehicle, police said.
Dallas White, 27, of Vaughan is charged with:
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited or restricted weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition at unauthorized place
- Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo.
Jada George, 22, of Milton, is charged with:
- Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited or restricted weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition at unauthorized place
- Possession of schedule I substance - opioid
- Possession of a firearm prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on March 21, 2024, police said.
A 16-year-old from Scarborough is charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -Opioid
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession property obtained by crime under $5000.00
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited device or ammunition
- Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition at unauthorized place
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
- Passenger fail to wear seatbelt properly
The accused was held for bail and remanded into custody, police said.
