Update 3:16 p.m. Fire and police crews were still on the scene of a fire that broke out on Wednesday afternoon at Aurora Auto Collision & Repairs on Edward Street.
Edward remained closed between Metcalfe Street and Connaughton Avenue as of 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, while crews continued to work in the area of the Aurora auto shop. Holes could seen through the roof of the barn-like structure.
Rudy Morassutti said he saw the building “smouldering big time,” around 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
Residents living in the area have seen a flurry of fire trucks in recent days, with police investigating an arson case relating to a separate fire on Edward Street on Feb. 9.
“I just assumed it was the train, it was waking me up early, but then when I opened the windows to see they were back, which seemed unusual since they were here on Sunday,” said Joan MacMillan, who has lived in her houses on neighbouring Mosley Street for more than 20 years. “It’s kept all of us up.”
