A man was followed after exiting a YRT bus and attacked by a group in the station earlier this month, police say

York Regional Police investigators are releasing images of suspect wanted in the stabbing of a man at the Vaughan subway station earlier this month.

Police responded to a report of an injured person at a hospital in Toronto on Sunday, Oct. 9 at about 3 a.m. Officers learned that an adult male man with a stab wound injury attended the hospital after he was attacked by a group while walking through the subway station at the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre around 1 a.m., police said.

The victim had exited from a York Regional Transit bus at the subway station on Highway 7 near Jane Street. The suspects followed the victim off the bus and then attacked him, police said.

The victim was able to flee and get on a subway travelling south to Toronto. The suspects left the area on a different subway, also travelling south, police said. The victim realized he had been stabbed once he got off the subway in Toronto. He was transported to hospital with a non life-threatening injury.

Investigators are releasing photos of the suspects and are appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police to come forward, as well, anyone with video surveillance or cellphone footage from the area at the time.
