Cotton candy, games, and rides are coming to town with the Joe Persechini Charity Midway May 9 to 12 at the Magna Centre in Newmarket.
The annual event held on Mother's Day weekend in support of the upcoming Easter Seals Run/Walk and Southlake Regional Health Centre is open Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., Friday from 2 to 10 p.m., Saturday from noon 12 to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Today is the last day to purchase tickets online. Family passes must be purchased online in advance. Keep in mind, kids less than 48 inches tall aren't permitted on many of the rides.
Admission to the grounds is free.
The Magna Centre is at 800 Mulock Dr.
This year's Upper Canada Easter Seals Run 5k & 10k Walk and Roll 5k is Sunday, May 26 at Riverwalk Commons.
Founded by Newmarket resident Joe Persechini, the event is York Region’s longest running fundraiser for children and youth with physical disabilities. Over the past 42 years, it has raised nearly $3.2 million.
