Standing in the Doorway offers a powerful exploration of Chinese culture, heritage, and the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Exclusion Act, inviting visitors to reflect on the struggles and achievements of Chinese immigrants. The exhibition highlights their significant contributions to the growth and development of York Region. This collaborative project between the York Region District School Board and Markham Museum has earned four prestigious national and provincial awards, recognizing its impact in shedding light on the history of Chinese immigration and its cultural importance.
