Woman accused of murdering Newmarket man returns to court Oct. 8

McKenzie Gill will be back in Newmarket court on Oct. 8 to answer to the charges.

A Toronto woman accused of second-degree murder in the death of a Newmarket man will be back in court next month.

McKenzie Gill is facing a charge of second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Blake Bibby, 36, last July. She was in court on Sept. 10 at 9 a.m. Gill is currently out on bail and continues to prepare for a trial hearing.

Details of her court matters cannot be released as a publication ban has been placed on all submissions and evidence presented in the courtroom. A new court date has been scheduled for Oct. 8 in courtroom 201 at 9 a.m.

York Regional Police were called to a building on Millard at about 10:30 p.m. July 14 for a report of an injured person. Bibby was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
