York Regional Police investigators are seeking witnesses after a vehicle struck two pedestrians in Newmarket on Nov. 23.
Police were called to the Prospect Street and Davis Drive intersections where the pedestrians were struck at around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. The 70-year-old female pedestrian was transported to hospital and remains in life-threatening condition as of Nov. 25, while a 49-year-old female pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The vehicle's driver remained at the scene and was not physically injured. In a news release, police did not make mention of charges at this time.
The York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit is still investigating the incident, according to a Nov. 25 news release.
Police are appealing to any witnesses and to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the collision.
