York Regional Police have issued a warrant for 25-year-old man after a GPS monitor was removed following his arrest in connection with an investigation of a gang based in the region.

On June 18, 2024, Tyrone Lothian was charged with firearm-related offences and failing to comply with firearm prohibition court orders, a York Regional Police news release said. He was released on bail and placed on conditions, including the wearing of a GPS monitoring device. Police said Lothian removed his GPS monitoring device on Nov. 6 and was last seen in the area of The Gore Road and Ebenezer Road in Brampton.

A warrant has been issued for Lothian for one count of failing to comply with a release order.

"All investigative avenues have been exhausted and his whereabouts remain unknown," police said. "Lothian is encouraged to seek legal counsel and turn himself in."

Project Lookout was a 14-month investigation resulting in the disruption of a gang based in York Region and hundreds of charges laid and illegal gun seizures.
