Suspect on bike rides into SUV before armed carjacking in Markham

An armed carjacking Wednesday in Markham has police on the hunt for three suspects.

At about 7:10 p.m., police responded to a carjacking in the area of Kirkham Drive and Karachi Drive. A male suspect on a bicycle rode into the side of a Cadillac Escalade, and when the driver got out to check on the cyclist, a dark sedan pulled up behind her vehicle. Two suspects got out, threatened the woman with a firearm and stole her vehicle, York Regional Police said in a news release.

All three suspects fled the scene together. The victim was not injured.

The stolen vehicle is a black 2024 Cadillac Escalade with Ontario licence plate DCFT 014.

The suspect on the bicycle is described as Blake male, about 20 years old. No descriptions were available for the two other suspects. The suspect vehicle is a dark-coloured sedan.
