Driver charged with impaired after man injured in Vaughan crash

Police looking for witnesses following serious three-vehicle collision Monday

A man is facing impaired and dangerous operation charges following a collison Monday in Vaughan that sent a driver to hospital with serious injuries.

Emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle collision at about 11:10 p.m. in the area of Dufferin Street and Rutherford Road, where a sedan had struck an SUV from behind, causing the SUV to roll and to strike a third vehicle, York Regional Police said in a news release.

The 60-year-old driver of the SUV was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the sedan was arrested.

Dmyytro Ilchyshyn, 34, of Vaughan, has been charged with impaired operation causing bodily harm and dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
