York Regional Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for an 18-year-old man in connection with a home invasion in Vaughan early Monday.
A resident was shot during the home invasion Jan. 6 at 3:49 a.m. at a residence in the area of Sir Sanford Fleming Way and Grand Turk Avenue. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released, according to a news release.
Doneil Josiah Levy-Porter of Brampton is wanted for numerous offences. Police have been unable to locate him and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Investigators are releasing his image and appealing to the public for information regarding his whereabouts.
Levy-Porter is considered to be armed and dangerous, and poses a threat to public safety. If seen, citizens are urged not to approach him but to call police immediately.
Police are encouraging him to seek legal advice and turn himself in. Investigators are reminding the public that anyone that assists him could be charged with a criminal offence.
Levy-Porter is charged with:
- Robbery with a Firearm
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Possession of Prohibited Weapon Knowing No Authority
- Possession of Loaded Prohibited Firearm
- Possession of Prohibited Device Knowing No Authority
- Fail to Comply with Release Order x2
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
