Police are looking for five suspects after a resident was shot during a home invasion early Monday in Vaughan.
At 3:49 a.m., police responded to a residence in the area of Sir Sanford Fleming Way and Grand Turk Avenue. The suspects, at least one of whom had a handgun, broke in through the rear glass door. When the residents were confronted, a struggle ensued and the gun was fired.
A victim was found with a gunshot wound and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other residents were hurt, but police believe one of the suspects might have been injured during the incident.
The gun was dropped during the struggle, and the suspects fled in a dark-coloured SUV.
The suspects are described as follows:
Suspect 1: male, 25 to 30 years old, about five-foot-10, with a skinny build, wearing a black hooded sweater, a black balaclava, carrying a handgun with an extended magazine.
Suspect 2: male, 25 to 30 years old, about five-foot-eight, with a skinny build, wearing a balaclava.
Suspects 3 and 4: males, 25 to 30 years old.
