VIDEO: Mercedes stolen in armed home invasion in Richmond Hill

Police say suspects stole vehicle Sunday, then returned next day with previously stolen keys to steal another

One suspect has been charged and three others are being sought following a home invasion Sunday in Richmond Hill.

At about 6:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a home invasion in the area of Orlon Crescent and Claridge Drive, York Regional Police said in a news release. Three suspects, at least one of whom was armed with a knife, entered the home through the front door while another suspect stayed outside. The suspects stole items from the residence, including the victim’s Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

The stolen vehicle was recovered in the area of Britannia and Whitehorn roads in Mississauga.

At about 8:45 p.m., one suspect was arrested after attempting to flee on foot. Police are looking for at least three more suspects.

On Monday, at about 6:45 a.m., the suspects returned to the victim’s home and used car keys taken during the home invasion Sunday to steal the victim’s Mercedes AMG GT63S from the driveway. That vehicle has also since been recovered.

A 17-year-old male from Markham has been charged with robbery with a weapon, disguise with intent, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (two counts) and driving a motor vehicle without a licence.

One suspect is described as a Black male, 18 to 25 years old, with a slim build. He was wearing a grey Fila hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.

Another suspect is described as a light-skinned male, 18 to 25 years old, with a slim build. He was wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black and red shoes and black gloves, and was armed with a hammer.

The third suspect is described as a light-skinned male, 18 to 25 years old, with a slim build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes and blue latex gloves, and was armed with a knife.
