Police are looking for six suspects following a robbery Monday at a financial institution in Markham.
At about 5:30 p.m., police responded to the business in the area of Markham Road and Highglen Avenue, where suspects brandishing firearms ordered customers onto the ground before robbing them and the financial institution.
One employee was assaulted during the incident and was taken to hospital with minor injuries, York Regional Police said in a news release.
The suspects fled in a dark SUV with cash and cellphones.
The suspects are described as follows:
- Suspect 1: Black male, thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, a black mask and grey shoes.
- Suspect 2: Black male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, a black mask, a black hat, white socks, blue gloves and dirty white shoes.
- Suspect 3: Black male, thin build, wearing a black balaclava, a grey Nike hooded sweatshirt with matching track pants, blue gloves, black and white shoes and carrying a brown and black backpack.
- Suspect 4: Male, brown skin, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, a black mask, red and black gloves, black shoes, carrying a blue and white bag and brandishing a firearm.
- Suspect 5: Black male, thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black Nike pants, a black mask, white gloves, black shoes, carrying a JanSport backpack and brandishing a firearm.
- Suspect 6: Black male, thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, a white mask, one yellow and one blue glove, black shoes and brandishing a firearm.
