VIDEO: Man shot while trying to help during home invasion in King

Police are searching for two suspects sought following incident Monday evening

A man was shot during a home invasion Monday in King Township.

Police responded to a residence in the area of Paradise Valley Trail and Fairmont Ridge Trail shortly before 6:30 p.m., when a 39-year-old man was taken to a trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two armed suspects had broken into the home. A man not associated with the residence had come to assist the homeowners and was shot, York Regional Police said in a news release. The suspects were last seen getting into a pickup truck and fleeing the scene.

One suspect is described as a male with tan skin, standing about five-foot-eight, with a medium build. He was wearing blue jeans, a white hooded sweatshirt, a black T-shirt with reflective trimming, a black tuque, a black face covering, black shoes and black gloves.

The other suspect is described as a Black male with a thin build, wearing black pants, a black hooded sweater with reflective trimming, a black face covering, grey shoes with white soles, white socks, and yellow gloves. It’s possible he has tattoos on his right wrist area.
