Suspects sought following attempted carjacking in Richmond Hill

Incident happened Thursday in area of West Beaver Creek Road and Leslie Street

Police are searching for suspects following an attempted carjacking Thursday in Richmond Hill.

At about 6:30 p.m., police were called to a commercial plaza in the area of West Beaver Creek Road and Leslie Street. They learned a pickup truck had stopped behind the victim’s vehicle and two male suspects, armed with at least one gun, got out and approached the driver’s side window in an attempt to steal the vehicle. A third suspect, believed to be the driver, stayed in the pickup truck.

The victim fled the scene and was not injured, York Regional Police said in a news release.

The suspects are described as males, wearing dark clothing with reflective trim and face coverings. The suspect vehicle is described as a black pickup truck with a crew cab.
