Shots fired at Richmond Hill house a targeted incident: police

Video shows two suspects approach the area on foot, fire off several rounds and then run away

Shots were fired at a home Richmond Hill early on Friday.

Police responded to a report July 19 around 1 a.m. that shots were fired a house in the area Elm Avenue and Springbrook Drive. When officers arrived, they located a number of bullet casings on and around the driveway and damage to several walls and ceilings within the home, a York Regional Police news release said.

There were three residents in the home at the time. No one was injured.

Video from the area shows two suspects approach the area on foot, fire off several rounds and then run away. A dark coloured sport utility vehicle with tinted windows is then seen leaving the area.

Investigators believe the incident is targeted.

Investigators are seeking any video surveillance from the area or anyone who may have captured dashcam video on the roadways at that time. Anyone who has not yet spoken to police is asked to please come forward.
