Police are looking for suspects after an employee was assaulted Tuesday during a robbery at a jewelry store in Markham.
York Regional Police responded at about 8:40 p.m. to the store in a mall at the intersection of Highway 7 and McCowan Road. In a news release, police said three or four male suspects entered the store, smashed display cases and assaulted an employee before stealing jewelry and cash. They fled in a dark-coloured vehicle before police arrived.
The store employee was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police do not have any further information about the suspects.
