Fourth shooting occurs at Richmond Hill cinema

In the fourth incident since May 17, shots were fired at the entrance of the cinema at East Beaver Creek and Highway 7 June 29 at 3:15 a.m.

An early morning shooting occurred at a Richmond Hill cinema for the fourth time since May 17.

Shots were fired at the front entrance of the cinema, which was closed at the time, at East Beaver Creek and Highway 7 on Friday, June 29 at about 3:15 a.m., a York Regional Police news release said.

On scene, officers located a number of bullet holes in the front doors and shell casings nearby.

No one was injured, police said.

Video from the area shows a blue sedan pulling up outside the cinema and a suspect firing shots from inside the vehicle. Video of the incident can be viewed here.

A different suspect vehicle was used in each of the four shootings, police said. Previously released video of those incidents can be viewed here.

On Friday, May 24, an employee arrived for work and found the windows of the main entrance doors shattered.

Video showed a suspect arrived in a dark-coloured sports utility vehicle and fired multiple shots in the direction of the entrance doors before fleeing.

On Friday, May 17, multiple shots were fired shortly before 10 p.m. toward the main entrance doors of the cinema.

On Sunday, May 19, multiple shots were fired at 9:23 p.m. toward the main entrance doors to the cinema.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, and to anyone who may have dashcam footage or video surveillance of the area to please come forward.
