Cyclist in critical condition after being hit by truck in Markham

A 77-year-old cyclist is in critical condition in a trauma centre after being struck by a truck in Markham yesterday afternoon. 

The cyclist was travelling northbound on McCowan Road, north of Major Mackenzie Drive East, when he was hit by a truck travelling in the same direction on Oct. 16 at about 1:30 p.m., according to a York Regional Police news release. 

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, and to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the collision, to come forward.
