Shortly before 3 p.m., a third officer was conducting speed enforcement on Hwy 7, east of Creditstone Rd. They were monitoring speeds on westbound Hwy 7 which is a posted 60-kilometre per hour zone. The officer spotted vehicle travelling at 116 kilometres per hour. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was charged.

High speeds on relatively empty York Region roads continue to be a problem. Speed kills. Police are urging drivers to slow down and obey posted speed limits.
