Victim suffered minor injuries in what police believe was targeted incident

A woman was shot outside of her Markham home Tuesday, and police are looking for a suspect.

At about 5:30 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Lee Avenue and Noble Street and found a woman with from a gunshot wound. She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim exited her home to speak with the suspect. As she was returning to her residence, the suspect shot her, York Regional Police said in a news release.

Police believe the incident was targeted.

Video footage from the area shows the suspect arriving in a dark-coloured Audi A4 sedan. He is described as an Asian male with a skinny build, wearing a high-visibility vest, a yellow construction helmet, a dark-coloured hooded sweater, black pants and a medical mask.
