Election Day is Oct. 22. Advance voting begins Oct. 13 in Newmarket.

There are three candidates for regional councillor and deputy mayor, who represents the town at both local and regional councils. The position receives a base salary of $55,304 (excluding benefits) from the town, $56, 195/$57,173 from the region, with a car allowance of $6,485. The town portion of the salary is one-third tax free.
