Peter Charpentier of Willow Beach has $99,588.30 to put toward his dreams after winning a Lotto Max second prize in the Nov. 26, 2024 draw.

Peter, a pilot, plays the lottery occasionally, picking up a Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49, or Instant ticket a few times a year. The father of one uses OLG’s Quick Pick feature to make his selections. Now, he is celebrating his first big win.

“I was enjoying my morning coffee when I checked the winning numbers on my phone. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, so I went to the store to make sure I’d really won,” Peter recounted, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim his winnings. “The store clerk scanned my ticket and the lottery terminal froze. It was a great experience that left me in disbelief.”

“When my wife and daughter returned home from work, I shared the good news, but they were skeptical,” Peter smiled. “I showed them the slip from the store and my wife said, ‘Get out of here.’ They were both shocked, and of course, very happy. We haven’t been able to stop smiling. It’s exciting thinking of all the fun things we can do,” he concluded.

With his windfall, Peter plans to invest, purchase a new vehicle, and pay some bills.

Lotto Max players in Ontario have won over $8.8 billion since 2009, including 109 jackpot wins and 929 Maxmillions prizes, right across the province. Lotto Max is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The winning ticket was purchased at Daisy Mart on Dalton Road in Sutton West.
