Taylor Swift FOMO? Town of Newmarket has you covered

The Beresfords featured in Nov. 21 and 22 tribute concerts for Swifties without tickets for the Toronto Eras shows

Newmarket Swifties who don't have tickets to Taylor Swift's Toronto concerts next month have a chance for a show closer to home.

The municipality is hosting its own Taylor Swift dance parties and tribute concerts at the Old Town Hall Nov. 21 and 22. Locals are invited to join in a family-friendly event featuring a live tribute performance by Aurora band The Beresfords.

“If you missed out on tickets to the Taylor Swift concert in Toronto, this family-friendly event is the perfect way to sing and dance your heart out to all your favourite hits,” the municipality said.

Part of Swift’s Eras Tour, the Nov. 14 to 16 and 21 to 23 Toronto shows sold out quickly when made available in August. The concert tour has become the highest-grossing of all time with more than $1 billion in revenue generated. Many local Taylor Swift fans missed out, with resale tickets now at over $1,600.

But The Beresfords have helped fill the void for Taylor Swift fans, with summer tribute concerts dedicated to her music attracting record crowds in Newmarket and Aurora. The band attracted thousands to Newmarket in the summer as part of the Newmarket TD Music Series, and hundreds to the Aurora's Concerts in the Park series. The band also played for the opening of Aurora’s Town Square in October.

Now, the band is offering live tribute performances at the Old Town Hall. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for the 7 to 9 p.m. show at the Old Town Hall on 460 Botsford St.

Tickets are available through Newtix.ca at $28.25, including tax.

“Get ready to shake it off, Newmarket,” the town said. “Don’t miss this magical Swiftie celebration!”
