Residents across social media reported hearing a large bang before the power went out.
"My wife and I were woken up by a very loud noise!" one Bayview and Mulock area resident said. "The ground even shook! Our daughters saw a flash outside their windows."
"We heard an explosion and our fire alarm went off also," another resident in the College Manor area said on Facebook.
NT Power dealt with another outage in the Thoms and Hodgson area last week, as well as a planned outage around Queen Street to move hydro poles earlier this month.
