Flags are flying at half-mast at all Town of Newmarket and Central York Fire Services (CYFS) facilities and buildings this week, to honour Paul Ferguson, the former President and CEO of Newmarket-Tay Power (NT Power).

Paul was a driving force powering our community throughout his 30 years serving NT Power. He joined the company in 1989 as the Director of Engineering and shortly after he took on the role as general manager then he oversaw the company as President and CEO until his retirement in February 2020.

“Paul cared deeply about what Newmarket-Tay Power represented in the community and even more about the people who worked with him,” says Newmarket Mayor John Taylor. “He was a leader in his industry and admired by many for his knowledge and camaraderie. Paul had a significant impact on NT Power and the Newmarket community.”

The Town of Newmarket offers sincere condolences and sympathies to his family and friends.
