Markham grandfather will pay off mortgage with $223K lottery prize

Jin Luo of Markham has $223,612 plans to pay off his mortgage after winning a Lotto Max second prize in the Dec. 3 draw.

Luo, a retiree, has been playing the lottery with OLG weekly for 17 years. The father of two and grandfather of four enjoys playing Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49, using OLG’s Quick Pick feature to make his selections. Luo is thrilled to share the news of his first big win.

“I was at the store when I scanned my ticket and discovered I’d won,” Luo recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his windfall. “I was shocked and overwhelmed with excitement and happiness, as was my family when I shared the incredible news. I feel very fortunate to have won this prize.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Denison Ticket & Tobacco Shop on Denison Street in Markham.
