You can go on a global journey without leaving town at Aurora’s annual multicultural festival on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Recognized as one of Ontario’s Top 100 festivals and events, the event celebrates the diverse cultures that enrich the community, a Town of Aurora news release said.

Features include authentic dance performances from Brazilian, Egyptian, Ukrainian, South Asian, and Chinese artists, free appetizer samples from different cultures, each prepared in traditional ways that highlight their unique heritage and interactive belly dance and Bollywood dance workshops and demonstrations.

The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Town Park, 49 Wells St., and then continues from 1 p.m. on at Aurora Town Square at 50 Victoria St. with the ribbon cutting and cultural dance performances, appetizer food samples, and interactive experiences. The festival wraps up with a special performance by the Norman Dance Company at 7 p.m. with tickets available for purchase at auroratownsquare.ca.

Bring your own portable chairs for the dance performances.
