Important Waste Disposal Guidelines for Aurora Residents

20240821-town-of-aurora

The Town of Aurora would like to remind residents of the proper procedures for disposing of various waste materials to ensure a clean and efficient waste management system.

For safety reasons, broken glass must be carefully handled. Place the shards in a sturdy cardboard box, seal the box securely, and clearly label it as "Broken Glass." This box can then be placed out with your regular garbage pickup.

Grass clippings are not accepted in Aurora's curbside pickup program. We encourage residents to leave the clippings on your lawn to naturally decompose and enrich the soil. Alternatively, you can dispose of them at the Bloomington Yard Waste Depot for a fee.

Invasive species should not be included in yard waste or compost. Instead, place them in a garbage bag and leave the bag outside in the sun for one week to ensure that any seeds are destroyed. Afterward, place the bag at the curb on your regular garbage pickup day.
