Last Friday, the Aurora Family Leisure Complex hosted its inaugural Girls Only LeadHER Play Day Camp, and the results were nothing short of spectacular! From sold-out registrations to beaming smiles, this event left a lasting impact on all who participated.

The excitement was profound as 21 registered campers arrived, ready for a day filled with camaraderie, self-discovery, and physical activity. The camp’s agenda was carefully crafted to empower young girls.

Here’s a glimpse of what unfolded:

    •    Friendship Building: Girls engaged in icebreakers, team challenges, and collaborative games. New friendships blossomed, reinforcing the idea that strong bonds can be formed in a single day.
    •    Confidence Boosters: Girls learned to embrace their unique qualities and lift each other up.
    •    Physical Movement: Girls participated with enthusiasm in a multitude of activities. Physical activity not only promotes health but also builds confidence.

The girls had radiant smiles, determination during team challenges, and the exhibited great teamwork skills across the diverse aged teams. Parents expressed heartfelt messages of appreciation to camp staff. One parent, speaking on behalf of her daughter, expressed that she absolutely loved camp and had an AMAZING day! Her daughter can’t wait to try out the camp again next year.

The success of the Girls Only LeadHER Play Day Camp has inspired us to continue offering similar programs. We believe in nurturing confident, empowered young women who will shape the future. To all the participants, volunteers, and supporters, thank you for making this day unforgettable!
