Cinematic Experiences during Aurora Town Square's Grand Opening

The countdown to Aurora Town Square’s Grand Opening, September 21 – October 13, is on! Low cost and free tickets for weeks of diverse performances, including cinematic experiences, are selling fast. For the movie buffs, enjoy Aurora Film Circuit’s screening of THE QUEEN OF MY DREAMS on September 23, which explores the lives of a Pakistani Muslim woman and her Canadian-born daughter through the lens of Bollywood fantasy.

On September 28, the Aurora Public Library will host a free screening of the NFB Documentary Film: WaaPaKe (Tomorrow) by Dr. Jules Arita Koostachin, addressing the intergenerational trauma of Indigenous communities caused by residential schools. This screening will be followed by a discussion.

Another highlight is the October 7 screening of Happy Woodland Pet Cemetery: Uncovering History, a documentary about Canada’s first pet cemetery right here in Aurora, which will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.

In addition to these events, Aurora Town Square will offer a range of activities, programs, and exhibits, including interactive art installations, heritage exhibitions, family-friendly workshops, and cultural showcases. These experiences provide a preview of what’s to come at this dynamic new space!
