York Region Police seek witnesses for Richmond Hill sexual assault case

York Regional Police is seeking the public's assistance to identify a male suspect from a May sexual assault case in Richmond Hill. 

Police said the victim attended a businesses in the area of Silver Linden Drive and High Text Road May 10 at approximately 10:30 p.m. The victim observed a mal standing unusually close to her, and when the victim turned to face the male, he was observed with his genitals exposed while committing a sexual act.

Police said the victim fled the area immediately and was not injured, according to a Nov. 26 news release.

The suspect is described as being a 25 to 35 year old male, with a thin build, short black or brown hair with brown eyes and was last seen wearing a dark zip-up jacket with a grey shirt underneath. 

York Regional Police said a sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature.York Regional Police encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of sexual assault to come forward and report the incident. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
