Driver, passenger injured in 2-vehicle collision in Markham

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigations Unit are appealing for witnesses following a serious motor vehicle collision in the City of Markham.

On Wednesday, Jan. 1, shortly after 2 a.m., police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Kennedy Road, north of Denison Street. When officers arrived, they located a black sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a white sedan, both having sustained serious damage. Two occupants from the sedan, a driver and passenger, were taken to a trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver from the SUV remained at the scene and was not injured. The investigation is ongoing. Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, and anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area at the time of the collision, to please come forward.
