VIDEO: Vehicles set on fire at outdoor storage lot in Markham

York Regional Police are searching for two suspects in the arson that occurred early Sunday

Multiple vehicles were extensively damaged in an arson at an outdoor storage lot in Markham early Sunday.

The fire occurred at approximately 3 a.m. and extinguished on its own at the vehicle storage lot near Heritage Road and McCowan Road, a York Regional Police news release said.

Thirteen vehicles in the lot were heavily damaged as a result. There were no injuries.

Video surveillance shows a dark, four-door sedan arrive with two occupants, wearing dark clothing, exiting the vehicle.

Video shows the suspects pouring what appears to be an accelerant on numerous vehicles and ignited. The suspects re-enter the vehicle, driven by a third suspect, and flee, police said.
