Police have released a video of a serious collision caused by one of many recent rock-throwing incidents in Markham.
Since Sept. 20, Aurora OPP has received 11 reports of rocks being thrown at vehicles on Highway 48. Also, York Regional Police has received nine reports of rocks being thrown at vehicles in its jurisdiction.
“One of the incidents led to a severe collision, leaving two individuals with life-threatening injuries,” Aurora OPP said in a news release, noting one person has since been discharged and one remains in hospital.
Several reports suggest an SUV and its occupants may be involved, and police are asking anyone who can identify the vehicle and the passengers to come forward.
