'Vehicle of interest' sought in targeted fatal shooting in Markham

York Regional Police are looking for a vehicle as part of an investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred Oct. 19 in Markham.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m., police responded to the area of 14th Avenue and McCowan Road and found a man with gunshot wounds in the driveway of his residence. Partheepan Panchalingam, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A vehicle of interest has been identified. Police are looking for a white 2002 to 2009 GMC Envoy SUV that was seen being driven away from the scene.

They are also looking for at least one suspect, who was wearing dark clothing and was seen in the area at the time.

Police say the incident was targeted.
