Senior critically injured after being struck by bus in Richmond Hill

The school bus driver who fled the scene before police arrived has been identified, York Regional Police say

An 84-year-old woman was critically injured in a hit and run collision with a school bus in Richmond Hill yesterday afternoon.

The pedestrian was left with a head injury after being hit on Yonge Street, north of Silverwood Avenue, Nov. 5 at just before 3 p.m., York Regional Police said in a news release.

When officers arrived, the school bus had left the scene, however police said the driver has been identified.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, and then was transferred to a trauma centre, where she remains in a critical condition, police said.
