A 22-year-old man was arrested in connection with an investigation near a building on Main Street on Oct. 9.
York Regional Police charged the man with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a prohibited weapon, breach of probation, and uttering threats.
Police were called to Christian Baptist Church’s Annex Cafe at about 10:30 a.m. after items were left behind on the premises. Numerous people in the neighbourhood observed the man resisting arrest.
Four police cruisers, including one unmarked vehicle, were parked on the street.
The man was arrested before a complimentary community barbecue at 11:30 a.m.
