Four charged after gun seized following parking lot fight in Vaughan

A disturbance call Sunday in a restaurant parking lot in Vaughan has resulted in weapon charges being laid against four people.

York Regional Police responded at about 2 a.m. to a fight involving five to 10 people outside a restaurant in the area of Windflower Gate and Nova Star Drive. Most had already left in different vehicles by the time police arrived, b​​ut officers learned three men and one woman in a white BMW were in possession of a firearm, police said in a news release. The vehicle was stopped and the occupants were charged.

Hasanpreet Singh, 26, Amit Kapoor, 37, Prince Singh, 22, and Harpreet Kaur, 35, all of Brampton, have been charged with possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, possession of a restricted firearm, and possession of a prohibited device. Kaur was also charged with obstructing a peace officer.
