Additional man, 19, arrested in connection with murder of Markham Realtor

Six people have now been charged in relation to the disappearance and murder of Yuk-Ying Anita Mui, who was found deceased in Parry Sound last August

A 19-year-old Toronto man is the sixth suspect to be arrested in connection with the disappearance and homicide of Markham Realtor Yuk-Ying (Anita) Mui last August.

Javin Liu has been arrested and charged with manslaughter; accessory after the fact to murder, kidnapping, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence x2, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, according to a York Regional Police news release.

Mui was reported missing by her family on Aug. 9, 2024. Later that day, her white 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE450 sport utility vehicle was located in the area of Finch Avenue East and Warden Avenue in Toronto.

On Aug. 12, Ontario Provincial Police officers reported burned human remains had been located in the area of Avro Arrow Road and Highway 400 in Parry Sound.

On Aug 21, the Office of the Chief Coroner positively identified the deceased as Mui.

Two men were arrested and charged in relation to the homicide in November and December. 

A Canada-wide warrant for first-degree murder remains in effect for Zhixiong Marko Hu, 57, of Markham.
